Father Pfleger is a radical religious figure who believes in “social justice” activism. He is a big supporter and friend of President Barack Obama. During the 2008 election he became a controversial figure with his race-baiting, liberal white guilt sermon in which he railed against Hillary Clinton.
I really don’t think that Hillary Clinton thought that she was entitled to be the Democratic nominee and president because she is white. It is my opinion that she thought she was entitled because 1) That’s how the Clintons have always operated and 2)because of her gender, she wanted to be the first female president. Both Bill and Hillary thrive on ambition.
I came across this preview or trailer of a documentary called Radical Disciple: The Story of Father Pfleger
“The film explores issues of racism, the power of the media, and the tension between Pfleger’s ‘gospel of the streets’ versus traditional Church theology.”
Here is an example of his open dissidence against the Church. Jesus never instituted women as disciples. This is one reason, probably the primary reason, why The Catholic Church does not have women priests. Having women priests would be biblically inaccurate and not following Jesus’ example.
In light of the Trayvon Martin tragedy Father Pfleger said “We cannot talk about Trayvon Martin without talking about the racism that is alive and well in America today,” and that “America, we demand you deal with race.”
Do you believe that racism is alive and well in America? I believe that there will always be a miniscule amount of racism in our society just like there will always be Holocaust deniers.
With regards to Trayvon and the Hoodie commemoration of him I would like to ask one question: What do you think the percentage of gang-related incidents are where the perpetrators wore hoodies are versus the times hoodies aren’t worn during gang-related or violent crimes?
The race baiters and many who claim they want justice for Trayvon’s “murder” when the facts about the tragic event are unknown simply want to crucify George Zimmerman like Jesus was crucified by those who didn’t want to know the truth. NBC even went so far as to alter Zimmerman’s 911 call. Why would they do that? Possibly to keep up the narrative the media has trumpeted that Zimmerman is a racist. Why let the truth get in the way of a narrative? According to a family member George Zimmerman was one of a very few who publicly stood up for a black homeless man who had been beaten by a police officer. According to Zimmerman he acted in self-defense. George’s father recounts what his son told him about the events that occurred the night he shot Trayvon. Then, there is ABC who had to backtrack after showing a video of George Zimmerman at the police station the night of the incident in which they claimed Zimmerman didn’t look like he had gashes on the back of his head. But the enhanced video shows the gashes on the back of his head. Then, we also have an eyewitness who corroborated Zimmerman’s account of events that happened that night. Please people let’s not rush to judgment. Let’s not declare that someone is guilty of murder before the investigation has ended.
Back to Father Pfleger.
Father Pfleger has an extremely skewed view of race relations. He is an outspoken supporter of another radical, Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan is the leader of the anti-semitic and racist Nation of Islam.
“I don’t think there is any group or religion in America that has done more for the African-American male than the Nation of Islam. I feel the real problem is, America doesn’t know how to handle Louis Farrakhan or the truth,” Pfleger told The New York Times.
Here is Charles C. Johnson on the connection between Barack Obama and Father Pfleger:
Pfleger had been close to Obama ever since the young Obama first arrived in Chicago as a community organizer. Obama also seems to have been close to Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam. Obama, then taking a break for campaigning for his bid for state senate, attended the Nation of Islam’s Million Man March in Washington in 1995. Pfleger would later endorse Obama, over former Black Panther Bobby Rush, citing his “grassroots background in the [South Side] communities.” Pfleger said that for poor black areas on the South Side “to receive the resources, opportunities and advantages that are afforded other communities and other individuals in this state, it’s going to take someone like Barack Obama.”
Pfleger knew of what he spoke. Indeed, candidate Obama advertised his endorsement from Pfleger in his presidential bid. According to a profile of Barack Obama’s religious faith that ran in the Chicago Sun-Times in 2004, it was Pfleger that was credited with helping the young Barack develop a “moral compass.” “He really came here with a very strong passion about how we can change things, and he understood the churches as being a vehicle for doing that,” Pfleger later told The Christian Science Monitor on July 16, 2007.
For Barack Obama, as with Father Pfleger, the Catholic Church has always been a medium for delivering his message – or rather, a tool to be exploited for his own political gain. It’s a pattern that continues today.
