Our national debt has reached $16.4 Trillion. I came across this video while surfing the net. I’m pretty sure that this was shown on TV back in 2011. Since there will be another debt ceiling showdown between the Democrats and Republicans soon I figured that it would be an appropriate time to post this video, which has a great explanation on the federal debt crisis in the U.S.

Right on target Girl! Thanks so much for sharing this. How are you feeling today? I hope better. Think about you daily. God Bless, SR
Hey SR!
How are you doing? I am feeling okay. It was rainy in my neck of the woods so I sorta felt blah and tired on and off today. But I did enjoy putting together a crossword puzzle for my 4th grade CCD class. It is on Lent and the Pope. Thank you for asking. You are always so sweet and awesome. Hope all is well with you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
Reblogged this on Citizen Tom and commented:
You a Baby Boomer? Then you are old enough to explain to both your children and grandchildren what a wonderful gift you have left them. And you have this little video to help, but I doubt it will make it any easier.
Thank you for the reblog Citizen Tom. God Bless.
“You a Baby Boomer?” Not quite. I’m 35. It seems as though the generations have gotten worse since the baby boomers with regards to government spending and promoting fiscal insanity or fiscal irresponsibility. Thank you for your comment Citizen Tom.
Teresa Rice — I guess I am a bonehead. I know you are not a Baby Boomer.
I intended that question for the folks visiting my blog, and I forgot to consider how it would appear to you. When a comment appears in two places at the same time, putting ourselves in the shoes of our readers can get real complicated.
No No Citizen Tom. I am the bonehead. I should have remembered that when you write something while doing a reblog that it appears on both blogs. But I was wondering, “Is he asking me this?” and didn’t want to ignore you by not answering the question. At least I believe that is what I was thinking when I answered the question. God Bless.
How true and how sad! As a baby-boomer myself, I have personally apologized to my kids for the mess we’ll be leaving them.
Its sad that others choose selfishness over selflessness and won’t think about future generations and what’s best for our country. Thank you for your comment @aurorawatcherak.
My brother and I talked last night. He’s early baby-boom and I’m late baby-boom. He’s really enjoying his retirement. In the middle of the conversation about the economy, my sister-in-law, who is an accountant, apologized to me because it’s pretty evident to her that there won’t be Social Security by the time I retire (about 15 years from now) and she recognizes that as the fault of her half of the Baby Boom. I said I’d known that since Reagan and had been trying to provide my own retirement. She said she hopes that works, but that the Obama administration is working to confiscate all the private retirement accounts to save Social Security. My husband and I have a Plan C. We’re paying off our mortgage so that whichever of our children will take over ownership keeps a roof over our heads. A lot of the solutions to our problems can be found in looking to the past and how former generations handled things.
At the rate things falling apart, I would not count on any government welfare programs. We are behaving like those people who owned the goose that laid the golden eggs.
