In Today’s reading, Jeremiah 7: 23-28, we can look specifically to what God Says in verse 23 “My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper.”
Scripture tells us that these people didn’t listen to God. They didn’t listen to His command, they resisted following Him and turned toward wickedness. We need to listen to and follow God’s Will for us. In this scripture passage God makes it known that He is looking for sincerity in our hearts, speech, and faith. We need to put on the full armor of God to stand up against Satan’s wickedness. We need to stand up for truth and be faithful servants of God who spread His Gospel far and wide.
We can listen and talk to jesus anywhere, everywhere. We can use scripture, or create a prayer on the spot. With the Word of God in holy scripture and the sacred tradition of the Church as a guide, we can listen to that “still small voice” and wait upon the Lord to speak to us in our hearts. Jesus talks to us all the time, all we need to do is listen to hear his words, his message for us.
We are all called to love God as the bible says in Deuteronomy 6:5 :
Here are a couple quotes from Mother Teresa on listening and loving Christ with our hearts:
“A clean heart is a free heart. A free heart can love Christ with an undivided love in chastity, convinced that nothing and nobody will separate it from his love. Purity, chastity, and virginity created a special beauty in Mary that attracted God’s attention. He showed his great love for the world by giving Jesus to her.”
“Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.”

Yep, you did it again. Sittin’ here bawling. God Bless, SR
